During the meeting, the FLA Board of Directors welcomed two new member companies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/alo\/\">ALO<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/barbour\/\">Barbour<\/a>. Both are pursuing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/fair-labor-accreditation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fair Labor Accreditation<\/a> \u2013 a rigorous, multi-year process that evaluates companies\u2019 systems to protect workers throughout global supply chains.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the board introduced its newest board member, Fulya P\u0131nar \u00d6zcan, representing \u00d6z \u0130plik-\u0130\u015f, a trade union based in T\u00fcrkiye. Board Chair Michael Posner also acknowledged several members that have joined FLA since the start of the year, including CSO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/peoples-courage-international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People\u2019s Courage International<\/a>; Participating Companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/ltp-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LTP Group<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/unrivaled-teamwear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Unrivaled Teamwear<\/a>; and Universities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/emory-university\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Emory University<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/saint-marys-university\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saint Mary\u2019s University<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President and CEO Jeff Vockrodt began the event by welcoming the more than 75 member representatives from FLA\u2019s Business, University, and CSO Caucuses in attendance. He reiterated FLA\u2019s commitment to being a source of stability and leadership amidst recent global turmoil, and emphasized FLA\u2019s role as a holistic partner across the value chain that facilitates an approach to HRDD that is measurable and realistic for our partners.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEverything we do has to be viewed through the lens of how it impacts workers \u2013 how it improves workers\u2019 lives, empowers them, and protects against the worst abuses,\u201d Vockrodt said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FLA leaders then provided detailed presentations on recent achievements and ongoing goals for the organization. Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff Shelly Heald Han shared a progress update on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FLA-Strategic-Plan-2023-2028.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2023-2028 Strategic Plan<\/a>. Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer Richa Mittal discussed FLA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/innovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">innovation<\/a> work and expansion into upstream supply chains. Director, Knowledge Management Cara Hagan explored the latest training and technology resources that members can use to further their social compliance goals.
