The assessments are performed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/assessments\/accredited-assessors-manufacturing\/\">FLA-approved assessors<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facilities are selected for IEAs based on the accreditation status of the company; the type of facility (owned or contracted); a company\u2019s history with FLA; known labor risks; and other related factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Types of assessments implemented by FLA include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-sky-900-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0415ecdcd6c6519bce67a52399ee222a\">Sustainable Compliance Initiative (SCI) Assessment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Evaluates labor conditions at the factory level against the FLA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/standards\/manufacturing\/\">Workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Benchmarks<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifies both factory-level and systemic issues affecting workers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collects compliance data that is useful to identify trends and compare results between factories, regions or countries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides recommendations for immediate actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-sky-900-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-035525264ec5d464b8a23acc3f331f2a\">Social Compliance Initiative Baseline (SCIB) Assessment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conducted at companies\u2019 owned facilities and may be deployed elsewhere as appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to recommendations for immediate actions, include sustainable improvement recommendations based on root cause analysis of non-compliances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-sky-900-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f13fd698fa1c3c1538e5f8776a4f57ae\">Audit Field Observation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allows FLA staff to observe and evaluate a company\u2019s internal audits, training sessions, and\/or remediation visits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helps verify improvement over time following FLA monitoring systems\u2019 recommendations from a milestone evaluation or past observations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"rich-text section\" data-dc-animate>\n    <div class=\" fade-animate \"  data-dc-animate-ref=\"fadeBlocks[]\">\n        \n\n<p><em>FLA periodically facilitates special projects and pilot programs that give greater visibility into companies&#8217; supply chains.
