{"id":5543,"date":"2015-08-04T22:34:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-04T21:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/?post_type=report&#038;p=5543"},"modified":"2024-12-20T18:22:09","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T18:22:09","slug":"style-avenue-el-salvador-verification","status":"publish","type":"report","link":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/reports\/style-avenue-el-salvador-verification\/","title":{"rendered":"Style Avenue, El Salvador Verification"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"rich-text section\" data-dc-animate>\n    <div class=\" fade-animate \"  data-dc-animate-ref=\"fadeBlocks[]\">\n        \n\n<p>In early 2015, at the request of member Outerstuff and affiliate College Kids, the FLA engaged labor rights expert Katya Castillo to conduct a special investigation of the labor rights situation at the Style Avenue factory in El Salvador.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, in 2011, the FLA had conducted a similar investigation at Style Avenue, and in mid-2012, the FLA engaged a third-party monitoring organization to verify the implementation of the remediation plan established the year before. &nbsp;The issues that required further attention were addressed through a new remediation plan (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/reports\/style-avenue-el-salvador\/\">available here<\/a><\/strong>). &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new verification exercise found improvement in the establishment of regular work-week hours and holidays consistent with the Labor Code in El Salvador but found incomplete remediation actions related to&nbsp;freedom of association, policies, and procedures governing instances of harassment or abuse, high temperatures inside the factory, payment of workers&#8217; benefits, accommodations for pregnant workers, and other issues. &nbsp;Further information on each finding appears below in both the full investigation report and the summary reports. &nbsp;Outerstuff and College Kids have worked closely with Style Avenue to develop a new remediation plan to address each of the most current findings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"template":"","location":[84],"members":[323],"report_type":[351],"class_list":["post-5543","report","type-report","status-publish","hentry","location-sv","members-outerstuff","report_type-investigation"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/report\/5543","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/report"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/report"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5543"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"location","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/location?post=5543"},{"taxonomy":"members","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/members?post=5543"},{"taxonomy":"report_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/report_type?post=5543"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
