{"id":35713,"date":"2024-12-01T21:33:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-01T21:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/?post_type=report&#038;p=35713"},"modified":"2025-04-18T15:46:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T14:46:49","slug":"2023-annual-public-report","status":"publish","type":"report","link":"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/reports\/2023-annual-public-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 Annual Public Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"rich-text section\" data-dc-animate>\n    <div class=\" fade-animate \"  data-dc-animate-ref=\"fadeBlocks[]\">\n        \n\n<p>In 2023, the Fair Labor Association continued our work to evaluate members\u2019 business practices against the highest international standards for global supply chains; advocate for improvements to wages, working hours, and the health and safety of workers; develop projects that test innovative ideas to improve working conditions; and provide resources that help members and affiliates develop a sustainable social compliance program that improves working conditions and protects workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope you&#8217;ll read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/FLA-annual-report.2023-FINAL.pdf\">our annual public report<\/a> to learn more about our accomplishments. Highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We welcomed seven new members, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/durak-hazelnuts\/\">Durak Hazelnuts<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/founder-sport-group\/\">Founder Sport Group<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/skims\/\">SKIMS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/furman-university\/\">Furman University<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/mcgill-university\/\">McGill University<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/member\/the-new-school\/\">The New School<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In December 2023, the FLA Board of Directors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/fair-labor-association-welcomes-new-president-and-ceo-jeff-vockrodt\/\">selected Jeff Vockrodt<\/a> to succeed outgoing FLA President Sharon Waxman, who led FLA from 2016 \u2013 2023. For two decades, Vockrodt has worked to advance workers\u2019 rights and responsible business practices, as an organizer, attorney, policymaker, and executive. He previously held leadership positions at organizations including the US Department of Labor and Climate Jobs NY and has advanced human rights in the workplace through his work with labor unions, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the law firm of James &amp; Hoffman.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FLA and the American Apparel &amp; Footwear Association re-launched and enhanced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/issues\/forced-labor\/commitment-responsible-recruitment\/\">AAFA\/FLA Apparel &amp; Footwear Industry Commitment to Responsible Recruitment<\/a> in 2023. In addition to ensuring a no-fees recruitment policy, signatories now commit to creating conditions where workers receive a timely refund of any fees and costs paid to obtain or maintain their job.
