Eduardo Alexander Mel\u00e9ndez, the son of Ms. Cocas, also was killed in the attack, along with eight others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FLA expresses its condolences to SITRAGSAM, the Central General de Trabajadores (CGT), and the families, friends, and colleagues of all 13 victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the recent escalation of violence in Honduras, FLA encourages all members sourcing or producing in Honduras to consider additional measures to ensure the safety of workers and union representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">###<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON, DC, 28 de junio de 2023<\/strong> <strong>\u2014 <\/strong>La Fair Labor Association (FLA) condena el asesinato de cuatro l\u00edderes sindicales del Sindicato de Trabajadores de Gildan San Miguel (SITRAGSAM) el 24 de junio en Choloma, Honduras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los dirigentes sindicales eran la Presidenta de SITRAGSAM, Xiomara Beatriz Cocas, el ex-Presidente Delmer Josu\u00e9 Garc\u00eda, el Delegado Jos\u00e9 Rufino Ortiz y el Delegado Lester Arnulfo Almendarez.\u00a0 Eduardo Alexander Mel\u00e9ndez, hijo de la Sra.
