Fair Labor Principles focus on the systems, frameworks, policies, and procedures a company must have in place to ensure that workers\u2019 rights are respected in its global supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-large-font-size\">Members work with suppliers to implement the Fair Labor Code at the factory level. The code of conduct is accompanied by compliance benchmarks, which identify specific requirements for meeting each code element. The code and compliance benchmarks set out the standards that a factory must have in place to protect workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-large-font-size\">Members are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/assessments\/assessments-manufacturing\/?report_type=workplace-monitoring\">assessed regularly<\/a> against the principles and benchmarks. FLA implements <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/standards\/manufacturing\/factory-assessment-overview\/\">several types of Independent External Assessments<\/a> to evaluate the performance of each member company\u2019s human rights due diligence program and working conditions at the factory level.<\/p>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"section quote href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/accountability\/fair-labor-accreditation\/\">Fair Labor Accreditation<\/a> sets a manufacturing company on a concrete path to improving labor conditions in its Tier One and owned manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-large-font-size\">To earn accreditation, companies must meet a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairlabor.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/ma-milestone-infographics-800.png\">rigorous series of milestones<\/a> in implementing, monitoring, and remediating workplace standards based on FLA\u2019s Fair Labor Practices. Each milestone represents key building blocks companies need for an effective social compliance program that improves working conditions and worker well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-large-font-size\">When a manufacturing company joins FLA, it commits to achieving accreditation of its social compliance program within five years of being approved as an FLA member.
